Background
Start to Share was founded in 2007 by Maria and Martijn Sobels. Their motivation: “We realize that we live our lives in freedom, happiness and prosperity. We like to share this privilege with others. But where to start? By coincidence we met Teresa d’Almeida, chair of the Associação Sol and founder of Casa Sol. This meeting inspired us to actively start sharing. Our initiative, in turn, has inspired others to voluntarily contribute their ideas, contacts and talents for a good cause. That is fantastic, because together we can make a real difference!”

Objective
Start to Share strives to contribute to the improvement of living conditions for children with HIV/aids. The first and only project Start to Share currently focuses on is Casa Sol in Lisbon, Portugal. In the future we hope to expand our support to other projects as well.
Start to Share invites people to share with others in any which way. This may be in the form of a donation, or by coming up with other initiatives that will support our project. For example by sharing your talent or your network. Any form of sharing shows your concern and is very welcome. Therefore our motto is: ‘Show you care. Start to share!’
